episode, I'm joined by two guests, director, producer and filmmaker Chris Purcell and writer

and author Martin Ruddock. Hello. Hello. Hello.

So that's Martin speaking first, and then Chris second, just so you know who's who.

Thanks very much, Chris, for having me. I'm such a fan of the egg pod, and it's a great privilege to actually be on it,

chatting about my favourite thing in the world. Thank you. Lovely to have you here.

Thank you. Thank you for having me. I mean, I've adored egg pods since it started. It's just such a breath of

fresh air and it's really lovely to be involved. I've wanted to talk about Hollywood Bowl for ages and

and it's lovely to do. Thank you. I'm a big fan of both your work as well so thank you so

much so can i ask firstly uh if i'll start with you chris when did you first discover the beetles

ah um well i think that probably all started around 1970 um so i'm i'm 54 my parents were both from liver Liverpool, so a big sort of Liverpool connection there.

And I have a very vivid memory, not for Beatles actually.

The first one was the scaffold being played on a radiogram.

Remember those?

Oh, yes.

So that was obviously Paul's brother, Mike and Roger

McGoff and John Gorman. But my dad was a newspaper journalist and interviewed them. My elder

brother had the white album in, I think, about 1970, and we shared a bedroom.

And I just had, this was on all the time.
