84 How lovely is your dwelling place,
    O Lord of hosts!
²My soul longs, yes, faints
    for the courts of the Lord;
my heart and flesh sing for joy
    to the living God.

³Even the sparrow finds a home,
    and the swallow a nest for herself,
    where she may lay her young,
at your altars, O Lord of hosts,
    my King and my God.
⁴Blessed are those who dwell in your house,
    ever singing your praise! Selah

⁵Blessed are those whose strength is in you,
    in whose heart are the highways to Zion.^[b]
⁶As they go through the Valley of Baca
    they make it a place of springs;
    the early rain also covers it with pools.
⁷They go from strength to strength;
    each one appears before God in Zion.

⁸O Lord God of hosts, hear my prayer;
give ear, O God of Jacob! Selah
⁹Behold our shield, O God;
look on the face of your anointed!

¹⁰For a day in your courts is better
    than a thousand elsewhere.
I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God
    than dwell in the tents of wickedness.
¹¹For the Lord God is a sun and shield;
    the Lord bestows favor and honor.
No good thing does he withhold
    from those who walk uprightly.
¹²O Lord of hosts,
    blessed is the one who trusts in you!

0:06.9	Carrie Green. I'm a retired pastor who now is somewhat pasturing over the
0:11.1	internet by teaching the word of God every morning in this morning mindset
0:15.7	and our goal is to get our minds aligned with the truth of God.
0:20.2	Because as we think the way that God thinks about the world and about ourselves and about the things
0:25.2	we face in this world, we are able to come at them and to interact with them, and I'm struggling for words there for a moment, in a way that brings
0:36.3	glory to him and empowers us to show up in the world the way that we should.
0:42.0	Now in yesterday's morning mindset we looked at
0:44.0	Psalm 84 at the very beginning of that Psalm where the Psalms was talking about
0:50.6	his delight at being in the very house of God where God's presence
0:56.2	was manifested and we're going to skip down to the bottom of Psalm 84 today
1:01.5	beginning in verse 10 to read a little bit more about what that experience was like and how the Psalm has thought about that experience.
1:10.0	Psalm 8410 says, for a day in your courts is better than a thousand elsewhere.
1:18.0	I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God than dwell in the tents of wickedness.
1:24.0	For the Lord God is a son and shield.
1:28.0	The Lord bestows favor and honor.
1:30.0	No good thing does he withhold from those who walk up rightly.
1:37.0	Oh Lord of hosts, Blessed is the one who trusts in you.
1:42.0	Now many of us have heard a popular song that came out a few
1:46.8	years back called Better is One Day and it was built on based on this song.m, better as one day in your courts than a thousand elsewhere.
