Summary

Scott Galloway quit everything in 1999. He quit his job, his marriage. "I didn't like my friends. I didn't like myself," he said. So he went out on his own. Two years later he felt like he was going to die. "I only left my loft for food, sex and to go to the ready-teller," he said. "An instinct kicks in that if you continue to do this, you're going to die early." He did the research. And found that men who live alone die 8-10 years earlier than men who are engaged in a family. So he started to study what was happening in his head. What was it about isolation that made him vulnerable? You'll hear the science in this episode. You'll also hear about the psychology of money, how to use it to feel happier, the 3 types of love (and which is the most important to longevity), what memories in your life will solidify in your brain as your greatest moments in life, and more. All of this comes from Scott Galloway's newest book "The Algebra of Happiness." Which he wrote because he made a video about it, got 2 million views and realized "people need to hear this."   I write about all my podcasts!
