Hey guys. Welcome to Drinking from the Toilet, a podcast that is mostly about dog training, but also wanders into inextricably related topics such as teaching

other people and teaching yourself. I'm your host, Hannah Branigan. This is an episode where

our love of learning and fascination with the science of behavior may take us right up to the edge

of everything that is reasonable within the scope of this podcast, but I do think that it's worth

it. I do also think

that it needs a little bit of context. Otherwise, it may seem like a stretch, even for my

geekiest friends, may still seem like a stretch. Again, I really think it's worth it. So this

week we have two special guests that we are conversing with. The first is an old friend,

Teresa McKeon, from Tag Teach, who you

will remember from episode number 12, where we talked about using Tag Teach techniques

specifically in the area of dog training. And she hooked me up with board certified behavior

analyst, Dr. Mallory Quinn. So a little bit of backstory. There's a podcast that I love to listen to called ABA Inside

Track. It's very much about behavior analytic science, really geeky, but I love it. It's one of my favorites

I do recommend it. And Mallory appeared as a guest a while back on that podcast talking about

using behavior analysis to improve sports performance in people,

which I thought was totally cool and totally applicable to my job,

coaching people to improve their skills and thus performance at home or in dog sports.

That's like totally the same kind of thing, slightly different skill set,

but lots and lots of overlap there.

So I'm listening with heavy interest in my car. And of course, in the course of that interview,

she happened to mention Tag Teach, which I thought was really cool. And I squealed and immediately

pulled my car over and texted because I don't text and drive. That wouldn't be a good idea.
