All of us face storms.

All of us face storms. All of us face our share of stormy times.

Nobody, nobody gets through life's gut-free. At one point or another, the sky will

darken above us, the sky will darken above us the winds will rage around us and we'll find ourselves

in a modern day version of a Galilean. The story of Jesus walking on the water toward the disciples in

the midst of their storm is one of the great stories of encouragement in scripture. I'd like for us to unpack this story

from the angle of what Jesus told the disciples, how he declared, I am with you. I am with you I am with you and what that phrase I am in the midst of a storm

means and I'm even praying that you'll hear God say the same to you.

So John's gospel tells us that one night when evening came,

and Jesus' disciples went down to the lake, speaking Galilee where they got into a boat and they

set off across the sea for Capurnium.
