Do what we call a lot of duct tape research.

So when you go out to a job site and you see a guy who's taking two tools and duct tape them

together to sort of make a Frankenstein tool, you look at that and you say, hey, why

did you duct tape that to that? He goes, well, if I duct tape this to this, I can do this.

Hey, Patrick, it's great to be here. I'm looking

forward to the talk today. Can you please tell me some of the history of your very long-storied brand?

Sure. You know, Klein Tools is a brand that's known to be the number one choice for electricians,

but our story is actually pretty interesting in

that we were founded before the light bulb, and we were founded before electricity was even

throughout the home.

So, you know, the first light bulb was 1878,

and the first home power by electricity was 1882.

But 1857, our founder, Matthias Klein,

was a blacksmith here in Chicago.

And a telegraphed lineman came in one day

and had broken a pair of pliers.
