Okay, well, this week,

the city council voted to move ahead with the plan to close Rikers Island. As the listeners probably

know, Rikers Island is where most of people incarcerated in the city waiting trial or serving sentences of like

a year or less, uh, that's where they're, they're held in the jails. This most of the city jails

are on Rikers Island. There are other ones. Like 10, right? 10 jails on Rikers Island. There's like

10 jails on Rikers Island, but I think they're not all being used right now.
