Hey everybody, I got a great one today, you know, for a change.

You know, I got a comment the other day from a listener who wrote,

Al, I love your podcast, but stop saying it's a great one for a change because it's insulting to your previous guess.

I hadn't thought of that, so I called my previous guest and asked them if they felt that way,

and only Norm Ornstein said he had a problem with it.

Norm said he was very, very hurt.

So I've got a great one today for a change, except for the ones that Norm Ornstein did,

which are always terrific.

My guest today is Jeremy Peters, who's been a correspondent for the New York Times for 15 years

and is an MSNBC contributor, so unlike my other guests, he knows what he's talking about,

which in this case is about his new book, Insurgency, How Republicans Lost Their Party,

and Got Everything They Ever Wanted.

It's a great read because every right-wing asshole from the last 20 years is featured.

I mean,

practically every one of them.

There's an old saying,

if assholes could fly,

there would be no sunlight.

So you got your Limbaugh,

your Gingrich,

you're Roger Ailes,

you're Sarah Palin,
