Welcome to the happiness podcast. I'm Dr. Robert Puff. Sometimes we can really suffer in life. Life can just be hard. But it doesn't have to be.

And I want to talk about what we can do to change that, to make our moments

that we have throughout our lives, to be good moments, to be moments that we look back and say that was a good moment and ultimately life is good.

And the premise of living a good life is living in the present moment. But it really has four

aspects to it. I want to talk about these four critical, crucial, incredibly wonderful aspects of the present moment when we embrace it fully.

Let's start by just taking a couple deep breaths together.

Now if we're able to do that,

with just focusing in on our breath and nothing else, we'll find

that all is pretty well because it's our thoughts that really keep us from living well right now.

It isn't so much what's happening.

It's far more how we interpret what's happening.

And we miss out so much on the present moment when we're in our thoughts.

We're actually then in the past or in the future or steeped in our fears, or our desires, we're not here right now.

And not being here right now, each moment, each breath, is what brings about the suffering that we're experiencing or can experience

throughout our life.

But if we're able to truly be present right here right now, then we'll find that all is well.

So the first step of leading a good life is learning that being in the present moment is a very good thing to do.

And that's the first thing we do.

We give importance to being here right now

and trying to quiet our minds and just flowing with and

experiencing all that life brings us not interpreting in it not running from it, not trying to control it, but just flowing with it.

And the way we do that is step two is by accepting the present moment.
