As you guys know, one of my favorite topics is deep tech,

category that includes quantum science, space tech, energy,

advanced manufacturing, and clean tech. If the US is going to out-compete and win against its rivals

in the 21st century, it's key that we build the ecosystems

and innovation engines necessary to do so.

My guest today, Adam Hammer, is co-founder and president of Roadrunner Venture Studios, a new fund working to do just that.

This conversation, we discuss the Deep Tech Revolution, the stakes involved, and how Roadrunner

is taking a unique venture studio approach to partner with founders, scientists,

and researchers to launch and build new companies, first in New Mexico, but eventually across

the country.

A particular reason why I'm so interested in this space is that there's clearly

so much work to be done, but also clear opportunity ahead. Instead of an episode moaning how we lost

our way when it comes to letting the legacy of our dominance in the mid-20th century go away, Adam and I are focused on how we can

actually build in this next stage.
