Welcome to the happiness podcast. I'm Dr. Robert Puff. One of my favorite things to do

0:10.0

is when I'm out and about is smile at people.

0:13.0

And the truth is, it can really vary the types of responses I get.

0:17.0

I almost never get negative responses.

0:19.0

And a lot of times I get no response because they didn't even notice that I was smiling at them.

0:24.0

But sometimes, say half the time down to 1 out of 10, I get a smile back.

0:31.2

And sometimes I get a really big smile back. You can see that their day is different as

0:36.5

mine is in that moment because we connected on the level where we're sharing our

wherever I'm traveling, whether it's a big city or small town, I like to smile at people.

1:14.8

getting people throughout the day, smiling at me, giving me big hellos back, and

1:19.4

it really does add to my day. It makes it pleasant, it makes it enjoyable, and it's like I get these

1:25.4

little bursts of joy throughout the day, just by connecting with people. And I will definitely

1:30.3

be continuing it for the rest of my life. It is something that's an important part

1:34.8

of who I am and I like it. But does it really make any difference in anyone else's life?

1:40.6
