Maker podcast. Each episode we dive into the minds of some of the worst criminals in history

and today we are going to be talking about the case of Daniel Rakowitz. So today's case,

it's a bit of a strange one, okay? So this case takes place in New York City back in the 80s

and at the time Daniel Rakowitz was living on the streets and the best way to describe Daniel

is that he was delusional, ego-tistical and he thought that he could become a cult leader.

Yep, he himself, he was like, yep, I'm going to become a cult leader. Daniel really was convinced

that he was going to start this crazy cult and then one crazy series of events led to another

and before you know it, Daniel Rakowitz ended up making soup from human remains and then fed it

to the homeless. So yeah, I told you today's case was going to be a bit of a strange one. We have

a crazy wannabe cult leader that makes human soup. So that's what we're going to get into today.

So let's dive in. Daniel Rakowitz was born on the 24th of December. So Christmas Eve

in 1960 making him a Capricorn and the fact that he was born on Christmas Eve does come up again

in the story. Daniel's parents were Anthony and Valmer and he also did have two older siblings.
