improve your marriage today. First up, Paul answers the question, how do we handle money issues

in our marriage? Here's Paul.

Well, it's quite regular for merry couples to have money issues, money problems that are not financial, it's really problems of views of money and use of money.

I want to say something in the beginning that money is important.

One of the things that the Bible talks about the most is our money, our use of our treasure.

And God is designed for us to live in a world where money is an issue.

I mean, there's a way in which money encroaches onto every day of our lives.

And this may depress you, but in some way you spend money every day.

And so you won't avoid the subject of money and finances in your marriage.

There's a second thing I want to say just as we begin to think about this topic is

God's goal in marriage is not uniformity. God's goal in marriage

is unity. It's not sameness. It's unity. And what is unity? Unity is what you do in the face

of difference. It's God's plan that he puts someone in marriage next to me who's

different than me, who doesn't see the world the way that I see the world. And that's a good thing.

God does that to grow me to mature me to create my dependency on him and so the calling when you're dealing with difference is to deal with

differences with appreciation and grace you don't demean the other person because they happen to look at an important issue

in ways that are different than you.

I want to say this.

You can expect because money looms so large that there's going to be moments where you disagree about the use of money.
