Hello, I'm Carol Fleck, and on behalf of the Attitude Team, I'm pleased to welcome you

to today's ADHD Experts Presentation titled What Is Horting versus ADHD Clutter, Defining

Characteristics and Strategies to Help. ADHD can make it hard to stay organized, difficulties

with decision-making, distractability, and impulsivity can easily give rise to a disorganized

home or office. To an untrained eye, ADHD Clutter may be confused for a hoarding disorder,

differentiating these two related but distinct conditions requires a clearer understanding

of what hoarding disorder is. Today's webinar will cover the causes and manifestations

of hoarding disorder, guidelines for diagnosis, common comorbidities, the role of attention

deficits, and best practices for successful treatment outcomes.

Leading today's presentation is Dr. Carolyn Rodriguez and Dr. Randy Frost. Dr. Rodriguez

is Associate Chair, Associate Professor, and Director of the Translational Therapeutic

SLAB in the Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences at Stanford University School of Medicine.

Dr. Frost is the Harold Edward and Elsa Sepola Israel, Professor Emeritus of Psychology

at Smith College. Dr. Rodriguez and Frost are co-authors of the recently published

book, Hording Disorder, a Comprehensive Clinical Guide. For mental health professionals,

peer support counselors, community advocates, and professionals in training, this book

will improve the reader's knowledge and skill in treating patients with hoarding disorder.
