0:20.5	we're going to be talking about the case of Kate Webster.
0:23.9	So today, this is something pretty different for me because the case of Kate Webster is
0:29.3	a very old case that takes place in the late 1800s in Victorian Britain.
0:36.2	So this is the oldest true crime case that I've ever covered and I just find cases from
0:41.9	this long ago so fascinating purely because it was just a completely different way of living.
0:48.2	So not only is it interesting because of the true crime element, it's also interesting
0:52.6	because it's just so different from how we live today.
0:55.9	And the case of Kate Webster was a particularly shocking case for its time because it is pretty
1:01.4	gruesome.
1:02.4	I'm not going to lie.
1:03.4	But what made it even more shocking is that it was committed by a woman.
1:08.3	I know, shock horror.
1:10.3	The case of Kate Webster did receive a lot of attention purely because Kate was a woman.
1:16.0	I truly believe that if a man had committed this crime, it would not have gotten the same
1:21.6	attention.
1:22.6	I don't want to give too much away in the intro, but David Attenborough does make a surprise
1:27.9	appearance somewhere in this story.
1:31.5	So yeah, that's definitely something that I wasn't expecting.
