No, but same franchise, actually. I was thinking of Gwen Stacy's uncle. He worked with this guy called Sentry.

You mean Robert Reynolds, the Void guy?

No, a different Sentry. This one ended up working as a double agent for the Zenox.

The Aliens Professor Xavier faked his own death to fight with the power of love during the Silver Age.

Right, those guys. Anyway, the Zenox had Sentry take on the Identity of Senator Robert Ward

and assigned him to infect Senator Kelly with a mind-control virus.

But he was thwarted when Kelly wouldn't shake his hand because he didn't want to give Ward his cold.

I know Aliens thwarted by the common cold as a sci-fi trope, but I'm not sure I've ever encountered that variation before.

Yeah, Kelly may have spent a lot of time as the bad guy on a lot of fronts,

but I do feel like he'd at least be one of the few elected officials still wearing a mask if he were, you know, real at around now.

So what ended up happening with Senator Sentry?

Oh, Gwen's uncle found out about the mind-control virus and pumped Sentry full of the antidote until he exploded into a fine mist,

which spread to and cured everyone he had previously infected.

WHAT?!
