Summary

There are people out there who love decluttering. I am not one of those people. But I do see the value in it and am so glad I've decluttered (and keep decluttering). I used to think that once I got good at decluttering, I'd learn to love it, and that would make it easy. That never happened. And that's okay.

Welcome to a slob comes clean the podcast. I am Dana K White. I share my personal

0:05.5

deslavification process as I figure out ways to keep my own home under

0:10.3

control. I share the truth about cleaning and organizing strategies that

0:14.1

actually work in real life for real people. People who don't love cleaning and

0:18.5

organizing. Thanks for joining me today. This is podcast number 404 and I think I'm going to call it

0:24.9

0:31.3

which many of you have told me you have memorized as well

0:34.8

is that I share cleaning and organizing strategies that work in real life for real people, real people

0:39.8

who don't love cleaning and organizing.

0:43.0

I don't, you know, I could say people who hate cleaning and organizing, but that's too strong, right?

0:49.0

It's just, we don't love it, right?

0:51.5

And the reason that I say this is that there are people out there who love it. And I've always, not always, since I started this

1:00.3

desolubification process for myself, since I started really diving in and trying to figure out

1:04.9

why is this hard for me? Why is it that I don't seem to be able to do what the organized people

1:11.9

tell me to do and have it worked that way in my home.

1:15.0

Since working on this and figuring out, one of the main things I realized was my brain works differently from the brain of organized people. That is fine. A big part of

1:25.7

actually making progress has been accepting the fact that my goal is not to be

1:31.8

like them. My goal is to find out what works for me.

1:35.0

So I have to figure that out for myself.

1:38.0

Well, a lot of the people who talk about cleaning and organizing

1:41.0

on an ongoing basis.

1:43.4

You know, I don't know, maybe like for 404 episodes
