It was quite the week for wide receiver news and I think we have a pretty perfect guest on the road of his fantasy football show today to work through some of that conversation.

I have been joined by Matt Harmon of Yahoo, also the creator of Reception Perception.

And we haven't got to do a show together for quite some time, but I'm looking forward to

dive in and to this one, particularly with the wide receiver conversation.

So with some listener submitted questions, we've kind of split them in to a number of topics

and over the course of two kind of 30 minutes shows or so, we're to try and go through as many of them as possible to help people make the right decisions and their fantasy football drafts. Matt, welcome back on to the show. I appreciate you jumping on here. I really appreciate you having me. Yeah, it feels like it's been a minute since we've gotten to hop on the mics together, man, but it is good to be back and I'm really looking forward to it. Yeah, and it is like sometimes, so peeling back the curtain for people who may not have listened to my shows 10 years ago when they were probably tragically bad, but there was people around the industry that were very, you know, complimentary of their time to

jump on and do some of those shows. And like when you look around, you know, Twitter in particular

an X has turned into like a landscape that is challenging to enjoy. But when we look back, the OG fantasy

community of the, you know, Twitter days, it's really cool to kind of get to connect with those people. I've been doing these shows over the course of 2025 and been able to link up with a lot of them that I haven't got to talk to over the course of time. I do the show with Sean Siegel and we kind of stick to just the two of us, but fun having some guests on the fantasy football show as we run through it. I mentioned reception

perception. I'm sure a lot of the listeners are very familiar with it, you know, the charting and

so on. But I think a good place to start and give us the landscape for what we're going to talk

about here is reception for let's pretend people have never heard of it before. Give them the

little bit of the 101. Yeah yeah so what i do with reception

is over an eight game sample i chart every single snap that a player takes every route they

run how often they're running each route type how often they're getting open on each route type

how often they're beating man zone press coverage there There's also metrics like in space attempts,

how often you're breaking tackles in the open field,

which I think can really help quantify,

like how kind of efficient a player's role is

or how much like layup targets they get

and how much the opportunity they get to break tackles in the open field,

how often they win contested catch is basically everything that you want to know about a wide receiver.
