Guaranteed Human. Welcome in everybody to Fantasy Proes. This is the Fantasy Football Podcast. It is me, Joey P. Joe P. is up here today. I'm here, too, my favorite Texans. That's right. Waltie Bro's a Louisiana guy who lives in Texas. And Tara Roberts is here, too. One of my favorite people. I never get to see Tara. So I asked to just do this show so we can spend some quality time together talking about some Superflex. That's right. My favorite format with two of my favorite analysts here, fantasy pros, make sure you subscribe to the channel. Make sure you drop your comments below. Like this video. You know what to do. It's really easy. And Superflex leagues, I remember about, oh, I don't know, 10 years ago plus when the Blackbook, actually 15 years ago when the Black book first started. I was like pushing Superflex to be the thing. Well, I'm old, Derek. That's how things go. And, you know, at the time, it was still very niche. It's not niche anymore. It's what you see in most dynasty startups nowadays.

It's what you're seeing a lot of leagues realize. And my whole thing over the years was always, why are we leaving quarterbacks, the most important position in football, out there sitting on the waiver wire. And in 12 team leagues is only 12 of them active. That's craziness. So digging deeper in a quarterback, if you haven't done it or you to fantasy, please, I beg you, do it.

1:13.7

Especially if you're in 10 team leagues. Go to QB, for God's sakes. Forget the Superflex. Just go right for it. So, Tara, I want to start with you today because we want to talk about some strategies because annually the pool changes at quarterback. last couple years I've been making that that case for the the fact that was so much youth and an experience of the position that it was going to hurt offenses a little bit and it was going to be very difficult at super flex. And we might see a renaissance to the running back position, which I believe we kind of did last year. This year, I feel a little bit better about the pool. So talk to me about what your 2026 strategy might look like and some of the things that people

1:46.0

can learn and apply this year to those formats.

1:49.4

Yeah, I feel better about the pool this season as well.

1:52.4

And, but we did have our struggles last year with a couple of high-end options that went down

1:57.4

with injuries.

1:58.0

It always happens.

1:59.0

But obviously, in superplex, that can derail your season fast because you're then trying to pivot to a backup or seeing what third option you have that you can drag out and hope that you get some upside there. Then you have, you know, your regression candidates, your wayward quarterbacks that come down after an outlier performance here. So we had a little bit of that last year,

2:17.8

but this year when I'm looking at the draft, my number one strategy here is to bank on a lot

2:22.9

of these bouncebacks from injured or wavered quarterbacks. Like there's a few guys in

2:26.9

particular that I want to point out because I feel like they fall into this category, but they're

2:31.4

being significantly undervalued. Unlike a Lamar Jackson, we get it, we know we're drafting, we're not worried about that whatsoever. If injury comes, we take it. But you look at a guy like Patrick Mahomes coming off of a major injury. That's someone that I want to point out, because he's been significantly undervalue coming off of this injury, and then you couple it together with the Rishi Rice issue.

2:55.4

I feel like we might be overreacting to that because Patrick Mahomes literally made it work and got it done with him being suspended for a good chunk of last season.

2:59.9

Xavier worthy missing games, clearly not 100% when he returned from the injury.

3:04.4

Patrick Mahomes had us rolling out Hollywood Brown and Tyquan Thornton

3:07.7

as if they were good fantasy assets that we could actually rely on there. So when I'm looking

3:12.1

at that, we need to like just kind of back it up and not overreact to the possibility that,

3:17.5

yeah, there are some potential injuries here for the wide receivers and maybe some potential

3:21.3

jail time there that is already happening and could linger further.

3:25.0

But Patrick Mahomes is Patrick Mahomes.
