Welcome back to Missing. I am Tim here today with Jennifer and Lance. How are you both

0:40.1

doing today? Doing very well, Tim. Thanks for asking. Doing great. Really looking forward

0:45.8

to this conversation. This is our first like official one that we are going to put out

0:52.0

there to the public about Dark Valley. Yeah, very exciting. I even wore my inside the

0:57.2

actors studio black turtle neck for this conversation. So did I. Well, that's very appropriate.

1:04.9

So today we're going to be speaking about the new podcast from Crawl Space Media. It's

1:10.1

called Dark Valley. It is being released. It's premiering June 16th, 2023, and Jen, tell

1:18.6

us what is Dark Valley. Well, Dark Valley is an investigative series about the Connecticut

1:25.3

River Valley serial killings, which happened during the 1980s up in New England, mostly

1:30.6

a New Hampshire, a bit in Vermont. This is an unknown serial killer. These cases have never

1:36.6

been solved. But what makes this story particularly unique is that there was one survivor. And

1:43.3

her name is Jane Baroski. You know, naturally you want to get right into, oh my God, how did

1:49.0

Jane survive? How did she become the last known attack victim of this serial killer who

1:55.8

spanned what 10 years, 78 to her attack was an 88. So as far as we know, 10 years, those

2:02.0

are the stories that you're covering over that decade. It's really tempting to get into

2:06.1

her story and the attack itself. But I have a question for you before we do that, which

2:11.4

is when we started this, we presented the idea of doing a series on the Connecticut River

2:17.7

Valley killer killings because not a lot of people have heard of this. There's a lot of

2:23.0

information out there about the zodiac and son of Sam and Bundy and, you know, all of the

2:29.0

usual suspects in that genre. But the Connecticut River Valley killer wasn't sort of on anybody's

2:35.4

radar. And I remember you said that you did not want to be on air. And we were thinking

2:42.2

about who's going to host this. Jen didn't want to be on air. She was like, I'll help research.
