I got a great one today.

Huh.

You know, for a change.

And that's because we have Lori Garrett and Andy Slavitt back.

There are a COVID team.

Lori is a Pulitzer Prize recipient for explanatory journalism. Let me explain what that is. No, I don't, I don't have to. But it's a very prestigious category as far as the Pulitzer goes. And she won that for writing about an Ebola outbreak in Zaire, she explained it.

And also she writes for Foreign Policy magazine.

And Andy, Andy Slavitt, Andy was the head of Medicare and Medicaid for the last two years of the Obama administration.

That is a trillion-dollar agency. A trillion

dollar goes through that agency every year. Andy recorded my first podcast right after the 2018

election in which we talked about how Democrats picked up 41 seats because of how Trump and

Republicans tried to undo the ACA.

But Andy did say on that podcast that there had been no evidence that Trump or anyone in his

family skimmed off anything from that trillion dollars.

So we established right off the bat the Al Franken podcast was going to be very fair

and even-handed.

No evidence of Trump family skimming from that, from that.

But we started teaming up Lori and Andy during COVID, and they're quite a powerful team.

of course. That's why Lori won the Pulitzer in that. And Andy not only explained COVID here on the podcast, but also tried to explain it to the Trump administration. Tried his best to be

helpful. His book, Preventable, is a powerful critique of how badly Trump mishandled the crisis.
