Summary

In this episode, I welcome Danica Patrick, renowned racecar driver, entrepreneur, and author. We explore the profound impact of purpose, discipline, and challenging experiences on personal development and speak about career evolution and authenticity amidst societal expectations. Danica and I reflect on balancing masculine and feminine energies and fostering dialogue for positive change. Our conversation dives into the complexities of self-expression and human consciousness, drawing on insights from plant medicine and personal transformative journeys to Sedona and Egypt. We also discuss spirituality, skepticism, parenthood's impact on purpose, and prioritizing genuine relationships over social media. Additionally we examine the relationship between success, sacrifice, and personal growth and highlight the importance of self-care, intuition, and intention-based decision-making. Join me on this deep dive of a conversation that will inspire you on your journey toward authenticity and fulfillment. Danica Patrick, a trailblazing racecar driver, broke barriers and set records in professional motorsports, including being the first woman to lead laps and score a top-five finish in the Indianapolis 500 and win a major open-wheel race in North America. Transitioning to NASCAR, she made headlines as the first woman to win a NASCAR Cup Series pole and achieve the highest finish for a woman in the Daytona 500. Retiring in 2018, Danica has since focused on her entrepreneurial ventures, founding Somnium, a vineyard in Napa Valley, and launching VOYANT by Danica. She authored the book Pretty Intense, which led to a popular podcast of the same name. Danica continues to inspire through speaking engagements and plans to expand her initiatives in the coming years. —Danica’s Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/danicapatrick —Danica’s Website: https://www.danicapatrick.com/ —Danica’s Podcast: https://www.danicapatrick.com/podcasts If you want to dive deeper into Mark’s content, search through every episode, find specific topics we’ve covered, and ask him questions, go to his Dexa page: https://dexa.ai/markgroves Themes: Authenticity, Belonging, Relationships, Spirituality, Boundaries, Self-Worth, Self-Love, Health, Transformation, Conflict, Career, Mental Health, Purpose, Self-Discovery, Intuition, Empowerment, Personal Development This episode is sponsored by: —Cozy Earth: Use code MARK for 40% off sitewide at http://www.cozyearth.com —Organifi: Use code CREATETHELOVE for 20% off sitewide at http://www.organifi.com/createthelove Contact us at [email protected] for sponsor product support, questions, comments, or just to say hello! I think that if you have a job profession of identity around something that has been consuming your life and you don't want to do that anymore

0:08.0

but you don't have anything to do and you have a lot of time to spend and allowing your thoughts to spiral in a pretty negative direction.

0:14.3

But when you have purpose, then you can allow yourself to spiral in a new direction upward, right?

0:20.3

Like there's a new a new goal.

0:26.9

But first these messages. Danica Patrick welcome.

0:28.6

Thank you.

0:29.2

Hi.

0:30.2

And you know I had the pleasure of being on your podcast and that felt a little weird for me because I was being interviewed by the legend and I was like, oh, I got to be on her podcast like I can't wait to have you online to share like I think of the not that

0:45.6

there's a hierarchy to accomplishments but I think you know the accomplishments that

0:50.5

you've made in the world have been profound and yeah and not just that but I'm

0:58.7

really curious to one to really dive into what help drive that and what do you see as sort of the core tenants of your success, etc.

1:08.0

But also how that continues to drive your life today and where that's driving you and I don't even mean those as puns because those are awful. I'm a dad now so I can do that but

1:19.2

Those are really bad and they're applicable so I like it. I like a little funny comments like that. I'm all good.

1:27.0

That's a good question. And stuff that I spend a bit more time thinking about now that I'm a little older and you know

1:33.7

meet more people along the way and take on other jobs and I mean I guess what I

1:40.3

can say is that when I was young I started racing go carts when I was 10 and you know I guess my you know my dad pushed pretty hard so I think that you know having

1:52.0

discipline having a goal and having it difficult like I think that I think that because my life was challenging and because I had to dig deep a lot I think it conditioned me in life to know how to dig deep.

2:09.0

And I think that's what a lot, I think that's a really powerful tool. I mean it has its downsides

2:15.6

Yeah, like I've definitely had to address therapy and deal with like not being enough and you know

2:21.9

The whole yeah, yeah exactly disappointing men in general as

2:27.1

things sort of become more of a common theme as opposed to like us just as a specific

2:32.4

dad thing but I'll take the downsides because like there was a season for when I didn't know any different and now is a different one where I can still tap in and use that ability to get very focused and have a vision and a goal and that work ethic
