Our guest today are Patricia Marcocchio and Masiar Gattery,

the director and producer of the new documentary film The Rise of Jordan Peterson.

Peterson is a Canadian psychology professor whose YouTube lectures and self-help

book 12 Rules for Life have attracted a wide audience. However, Peterson is also an extremely

polarizing figure who first rose to prominence for his opposition to Bill C16.

Peterson argued that certain provisions of the bill, which require Canadians to refer to

transgender and non-binary people by their preferred pronouns, represented a dangerous expansion of the government's

power to regulate free speech.

Peterson has since weighed in on a wide range of controversial topics and his frequent attacks

on political correctness have made him a hero of many on the right,

which has only increased suspicion of him on the left.

The documentary The Rise of Jordan Peterson charts his rise to fame, explores his home life,

and gives voice to some of his many critics.

Okay, so Masiar, you told me in an email that you're both huge science fiction fans.

So let's start off with you and have you just tell us about how you first got interested in science fiction?

Sure. It all started with the next generation actually. My older brother always watched it and so I didn't have a choice when I was a kid, but as time went on, I got a bit older. I started getting more and more into it.
