As is this case in a very small way, William Bradford Bishop murdered his wife, mother, and

three sons in 1976 and then left his car in the parking lot of the Great Smoky Mountains

National Park.

And by all accounts left to avoid prosecution.

He had worked for the US government and so it's possible that this is a guy who escaped

the country in order to avoid prosecution.
