Hello and welcome to another of my Saturday episodes where I basically provide a journal or just talk about things that are happening this week since I've dipped my toe into the, I wanted to say fiery waters, but I feel like that's a mixed metaphor isn't

it unless you're in a particular moment of Free Willy or whatever movie it was when

they're sort of oil on the water and it gets all fiery.

Choppy waters might be more apt and appropriate as a metaphor.

Anyway, I want to talk about Scientology, I want to talk about gender, and I want to talk about my trip to Florida. From where? From whence? No. I'm speaking. I'm in Florida. I'm in near Miami, actually, right now, and it's beautiful

and gorgeous and lovely, and I've been thinking a bit about America, and before I get into

some of the nitty gritty and the big stuff.

I mean this is a thing, this is why I wanted to start doing these audios for Saturday because this is a time where I get to just talk to the listeners.

Some of you have been listening for four years.

You've followed this podcast as it's moved

from cults and ideologies and some sort of,

well, culture, or more culture war war stuff into just cults into just

Scientology into just celebrities and tabloid and royal family news and as it's come

back out of that narrow window into the culture wars once again.

A lot of that has been led by YouTube audience capture and stuff like that,

and I'm writing a book about exactly that now because I think it's

such a fascinating thing but you've stuck with me all this time we've got the big

episodes on Mondays and Thursdays that's the UK time anyway and on Saturday it's well you know a time where I can just

talk to you guys and this does not go out on YouTube it's just for the audio

people it enables me to actually just say what's going on and speak freely.

Whereas on YouTube you're constantly restricted

by making sure that every single thing you say
