I wanted me a boy and I was very very vehement and strong in that. I was defined by it. I was kind of the kind of crazy kid in town. Everybody knew me and everywhere I want people to say,

you a boy or a girl and I'd kind of go no.

Did you have a boy name?

So I'm very glad I didn't transition but had I been asked way back in those lonely days

I would have sailed the seven seas for puberty block.

I would have... It was an awful time. I would have loved to have the opportunity.

What would be different about you now had you been on a few years of those puberty brokers?

Well, this is the first generation that I've been told

you actually are a girl or you actually are a boy that we've never done this with

these children to tell them that they can take drugs to stop all that and to stop their

periods and stop sexual development is incredibly authoritarian and so I

think that's really, really dangerous.

It's a sad, horrible world for these kids.

Hello, it's another episode of Heretics, and today I have a heretic, and in many respects,

she's a heretic actually, Stella O'Malley. Stella started life as a heretic because she was and no not is because she's not a

girl she's a woman but she was a girl who wanted to be a boy she's now a psychotherapist

who often works with children and young people and is gender critical.

She's incredibly happy as you'll hear that she has children, she has a husband, she has a life that

she would not have had she been maybe pushed or enabled with regards to starting hormone therapy puberty blockers those kinds of things.

So she's a really really interesting person and she comes at the whole gender critical thing from an

interesting angle having been on that side.

However, she's also a heretic because she is criticized by the what are becoming being known as, or starting to be known as,
