Welcome to the Most Notorious Podcast, I'm Eric Rivenes.

0:47.2

So my epic interview with Mark Lee Gardner, author of Shot All To Hell, Jesse James, the

0:53.2

Northfield raid in the Wild West's greatest escape continues on in this episode.

0:57.9

And to break it down, part one was the raid itself. And part two, today's episode is

1:37.5

1:42.6

And another man, a recent Swedish immigrant named Nicholas Gustafson, who

1:49.5

happened into the street at the wrong moment, was gunned down by cold younger.

1:54.9

And then the gang high-tailed it out of town, shot up and in bad physical condition.

2:00.5

And words spread like wildfire of force and people began to organize.

2:05.2

Telegraph operators notified towns across Minnesota about what had happened, and the police

2:10.2

chiefs of both Minneapolis and St. Paul immediately gathered their own forces, separate

2:15.5

from each other, and made ready to travel south to catch or kill the gang members themselves.

2:22.0

And Minneapolis and St. Paul, as you point out in your book, and we, Twin Cidians, have
