I'm here. We are in the world. It's hard to expand beyond that. I know this is not

terribly thrilling audio content, but... But but no but it's honest and I

feel that way too I mean we're living through such really serious and sad times

you know first of all months into this pandemic and how stressful and difficult that can be and then seeing so much racially motivated violence in our country and very really inspiring

rebellion but also just you know it's it's very hard to sit with all of this and to watch a lot of this.

We've spent you know the past few months together and in the kind of longer arc of this thinking about the power of stories and the power of actions that people take and kind of how you see yourself in history and I think a lot of people now feel acutely aware of where are you relative to the story that's going to be told about this period of your life, right?

Like when people look back on 2020, how are you going to think about what your story was from this time?

And I think more than ever, I am so tremendously humbled and grateful that people reached out to us that people were willing to engage in the syllabus project that we did.

I think there are amazingly valuable resources that people have pointed us to on anti-racism and education.

And I think part of what's hard about sitting in front of a mic right now is we're trying

to listen and not take up as much space, but we also understand that being part of the

wider world, you know, we are able to speak to people.
