He's the author of the short story collection, a tree or a person or a wall, and the novel Scrapper

and in the house upon the dirt between the Lake and the Woods.

His writing has appeared in the New York Times, Tin House, and Conjunctions.

And he's also the Director of the Creative Writing Program at Arizona State University.

And we'll be speaking with him today about his non-fiction book Balders Gate 2 from Boss Fight Books,

which explores his love of Dungeons and Dragons and video games.

Okay, so you say in the book, when I was growing up, almost everything I loved was deeply

uncool and embarrassing.

So tell us about that.
