Summary

Although the cool-down part of your workout is just as important as the warm-up, many people feel alright about skipping it. I think that is because the cool-down is poorly understood. Today, I hope to make it clear that you should be doing both on a regular basis. Welcome to the Get Fit Guys quick and dirty tips to slim down and shape up. My name is

0:07.4

Brock Armstrong and I'm the Get Fit Guy. The exercise cool down is poorly understood and today I hope to

0:14.8

make it clear that cooling down after a workout is just as important as the warm up and should be

0:20.7

done on a regular basis.

0:23.3

After any workout, whether it's cardio or weights, your muscles are tired and very quickly

1:25.3

in traffic. Now, not all of us have time for what I would call

1:29.2

a luxurious cool down, but there must be a middle ground, right? To find that, let's look at

1:35.1

the actual benefits of a good cool down and how to achieve them. And the first benefit is blood flow.

1:41.8

Okay, here's cool down benefit number one, blood flow.

1:46.0

At its most basic, a cool-down after a workout simply keeps your blood circulating at a comfortable

1:52.0

rate throughout the body.

1:54.0

After a workout ends, you would ideally continue some activity, but begin to perform it at a slower

2:00.0

and slower pace until you're moving at a normal
