Summary

On January 14, 2018, 17-year-old Jordan Turpin did the unthinkable: She broke out of the home where she and her 12 siblings were being heled prisoner by their parents, and, using a stolen cell phone, she called 911. 90 minutes later, police entered the home and discovered a horror that's almost impossible to imagine: Children chained to beds, living in filth, emaciated from years of malnutrition. The decades-long nightmare was over, but how on Earth had these parents been able to conceal their abuses for so long?
