I got a story to tell every word of it true except for the parts I made up for you just some

history that has been reworded into a mystery called the way I heard it.

Yep, that's all true.

This is another episode of the way I heard it.

A short story written just for you on a plane to somewhere or another by yours truly not so long ago.

This one is called something to chew on. This is not a Christmas story. I should tell you,

but I do think it's well suited for the month of December.

I hope you like it. Here's something else to chew on though before we get started

regarding my favorite sweatshirt if you'll indulge me. It's a classic zip-up

hoodie that used to be Navy blue but has since faded to what the fashionistas call

a distressed indigo. It's a kind of sweatshirt girlfriends like to

permanently borrow. It's 13 years old now. Soft is a flannel bathrobe, but when I tell you it's been to hell and back, I'm not even kidding.

From sewers to septic tanks and coal mines, crematoriums, this sweatshirt has endured dozens of dirty jobs in all 50 states along with

hundreds of washings and countless laundromats from sea to shining sea and

today it's as comfortable as it is indestructible. And the reason is simple.
