I've often wondered if Isaiah's prophecy, 11 verse 6, the wolf shall dwell with the lamb,

the leopard shall lie down with the young goat and the calf and the lion and the patent calf together,

and a little child shall lead them, has at least partially in view, the utter transformation

of that true wolf of the tribe of Benjamin, who so zealously persecuted the church, into

the land of the holyle, St. Paul.

Greetings, people, loved by God. Well, last time we covered the briefer blessings that Jacob spoke over six of his sons, Zebulin Isikar, Dan, Gad, Asher, and Naftali.

We saw repeatedly in the way the fathers read these prophecies their conviction that the entirety of the Old Testament,

Zebulun, the tribe that settled along the shores of the Sea of Galilee, would be the place

where Jesus would spend much of his earthly ministry,

thus fulfilling Isaiah's prophecy in chapter 9 of his book.

Isikar's blessing was thought to prefigure how Christ provides a good resting place for his people

and how he invited them to take up his yoke even as he bore his cross.

Dan, whose name meant judge, was characterized as a viper by the wayside, attacking the enemy's

horses so that the writers fall off, and we saw how Ephraim the Syrian pointed out that

Jesus took Moses serpent on the pole as a sign of how

he would be serpent to the serpent, how he would topple Satan and so accomplish the great
