Well, last time we wrapped up Genesis 48. Jacob recall had been in the

middle of blessing the two sons of Joseph when Joseph had interrupted his father. He did not like the

fact that Jacob had crisscrossed his hands, thus putting his right hand the hand of favor upon

the younger Ephraim rather than the the first-born Manasseh.

He first tried to move his father's hand, and when Jacob clearly resisted, had proceeded to explain

that his father was doing this incorrectly, giving the prime blessing to the younger lad.

Jacob had let Joseph know that he knew exactly what he was doing
