Welcome in, everyone, to this week's edition of the Deer Hunter podcast, Blizzardcast, December 6th, Friday, December 6th, by all definitions.

Opening day of traditional muzzleloader season here in the great state of

Michigan and it is like late season blizzard cast full tilt last night sat in the studio

it was 24 degrees out air temp i think you know high teens wind chill and just driving snow all night

and it's been basically a blizzard alert blizzard warning don't go anywhere hunker down

since sunday night and i think we're roughly we're over two foot of snow

it's over my boots I found that out in the woods today it's about the snow's about up to my

knees I don't know if we have 30 inches of snow but we have a lot of snow and it's really changed

the landscape and I was planning on doing some tracking here this week and I don't know how that's going to go it's pretty hard traversing the woods so I was out today trying to locate some deer to hunt I think they're going to get pinned down pretty hard where I am here regionally I know that's going to be different for people all over, but here in the northern

part of the state of Michigan, and I think throughout the Midwest, we're in the northern tiers.

We're getting a lot of lake effects snow, and we got about 30 inches here over the course of this

week, and it's snowing heavy out right now. into the studio it's warm in the studio you'll hear

in this podcast that we uh installed a wood stove now in the studio which is nice uh because we can stay

out here and record podcasts and not have to put on like full bibs to do the podcast and be comfortable

not have your face be getting

cold while you're doing this was a nice upgrade and we we timed it well because we had it's just

been full winter storm here all week but i'm joined this week by my good friend and hunting mentor
