I'm an author, a spiritual director, and an occasional workshop leader.

I live in North Carolina with my family and through my work, I've helped thousands of

spiritually thoughtful

people overcome decision fatigue so that they can discern their next right thing in faith,

work, and life. One of the fun parts of my job is that I get a lot of books in the mail before

they hit shelves. This can also be an overwhelming part of the job because I often see books

I either want to read or share, but with limited capacity, it's just not possible to do so,

as I'm sure you can imagine. But every now and then, I will receive an early reader copy of a book

in the mail, and the title alone captures my attention. If that happens, of course, I'm going to take

a look at the first few pages and see if it's a book that I would like to read. Very rarely when I do

that, I'll also immediately want to have the author on the podcast, like within the first 10 minutes.

And that dear listener is exactly what happened with a book late last year whose
