There was actually a nine year period for me where I didn't make a noise.

I didn't want to be heard. I didn't want to sing. I really didn't want to sing because that voice had gotten me to this place.

And that music, I didn't want to do me, you know, it was really a time where I didn't like myself that much.

So I hated the sound of my voice and, you know, and I remember being stood on stage, it could have been new castle.

There was somewhere where I was stood and I was singing. And, you know, singing is a...

It's just a brilliant thing. People singing a shower. They sing when they're painting.

You're happy when you're singing. And I remember going, I love this. I love this.

This is what I did in those clubs traveling around Wiggan. I used to run out on stage because I loved it.

And I was back there again.

That is the voice of course, of Gary Barlow. I've known Gary not forever, but nearly forever.

And then I witnessed their breakup, Robbie leaving in 95.

And I remember when I was working on Radio 1, they held a live press conference that remaining four members

to announce they were splitting up. They were disbanding.

And then of course, they came back in 2005 with a documentary to begin with.

And then back by popular demand to play some gigs because this guy called Simon,
