0:52.9	First mention, many people think Title IX is about equity for women and girl athletes at federally

0:58.7	That's true, but there's more to this monumental piece of civil rights legislation.
1:04.9	Let's begin with the entire name of the law.
1:08.1	Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972.
1:12.1	It's 37 words, change the game.
1:15.3	No person in the United States shall be excluded from participation in the business of sex.
1:21.3	Title IX to benefit off or be subjected to discrimination under any education program
1:27.1	or actively receiving federal financial assistance.
1:30.3	So as you see, it covers a lot, absolutely athletics.
