Our guest today is Lisa Yazzick.

She's a professor of science fiction studies at Georgia Tech,

and her books include Galactic Suburbia,

recovering women science fiction, and Sisters of Tomorrow, the first women

in science fiction.

She's also a past president of the Science Fiction Research Association and a juror for the

John W Campbell and Yucci Foster Awards

and she recently appeared in the AMC series James Cameron Story of Science Fiction

and we'll be speaking with her today about her new anthology The Futurist Female,

25 Classic Science Fiction stories by women, from Pulpp pioneers to Ursula Kay Le Gwyn.

I'm glad to be here today.

OK, so to start with, just tell us about how

you first got into science fiction.

Well, I've actually always been interested in science fiction.

My very first memory in the world

is watching Star Trek reruns with my parents and eating
