0:00.0	December 12th brings one of my favorite feasts as a native Texan and that is the
0:06.3	feast of Our Lady of Guadalupe. In order to celebrate the feast I wanted to
0:11.2	share with you a online course that I recorded at the
0:14.4	new St. Thomas Institute. It's the history of Our Lady of Guadalupe and it doesn't
0:19.0	just begin with Juan Diego and the Aztec people.
0:22.8	It begins with the time of the Apostles.
0:25.3	It begins with St. Luke, with a legend
0:28.8	that he carved a statue, and how that statue came to Italy with Gregory the Great and eventually went to Spain where it was lost during the Mohammedan invasion, recovered, and so on and so forth.
0:42.0	I won't ruin the whole story for you, but it's a rich, rich tradition and history.
0:47.0	And it's really the foundation and the bedrock of the apparition
0:51.5	of Our Lady of Guadalupe.
