We decided to do this episode following Texas legislature enacting their stringent abortion law (SB8) and it is more necessary than ever now, with more than 100 abortion restrictions enacted just this year.

0:06.0	We recorded it back in September right when the new law came into effect in Texas that
0:11.6	any pregnancy in which a heartbeat is detected cannot be aborted.
0:16.2	Effectively meaning that if you are six weeks pregnant you cannot have an abortion in Texas,
0:21.3	which is crazy because abortion rights activists estimate 85 to 90% of people who need abortions
0:27.8	in Texas are at least six weeks pregnant.
0:30.7	I know I personally, I was five weeks pregnant when I went to the doctor and then they made
0:36.6	me wait at an additional two weeks because they were like this clump of cells isn't big
0:41.3	enough to be aborted yet.
0:43.5	So that's no good because that would make all of those abortions illegal.
0:48.9	We recorded with six different companions who have stories, either a story of their own
0:55.6	that they went through or a friend that they helped or a parent or something like that.
