Summary

John 11:1-7

Join us as we begin a new series. In this episode, we introduce Lazarus, his sisters Mary and Martha, and their close relationship with Jesus. When Lazarus falls ill, his sisters send word to Jesus expecting Him to come quickly.

Kids will hear that they too can trust in God’s timing. Even when help seems delayed, God has not forgotten us and we can cry out to him for help.

0:05.8	The Miracle of Lazarus and today's episode is a cry for help. This comes from John Chapter 11 verses 1 through 7. As we unfold
0:19.0	the pages of this scripture you meet fascinating people like Mary, Martha, and their brother Lazarus.
0:27.0	They were close friends of Jesus who experienced his love and power firsthand.
0:33.3	Let's jump right in.
0:36.3	In the quaint village of Bethany, nestled on the outskirts of Jerusalem, a humble home stood.
0:53.0	Behind the doors of this home was Lazarus, beloved brother to Mary and Martha.
1:01.0	But sadly, Lazarus was very, very sick.
1:09.0	The sisters tended to Lazarus, hoping to help him. Their brother whose laugh was once vibrant had now become
1:19.1	a whisper. His chest rose up and down, up and down, working hard to breathe. Mary, with tears pulling in her eyes sat by Lazarus's side, gently wiping his brow with a cool cloth.
1:40.0	The room was dimly lit by a single oil lamp casting long shadows that danced on the walls.
1:49.0	As she watched the shadows change shape, she had an idea.
1:56.0	She knew, Mary knew and loved Jesus.
2:01.1	In fact, if you read past this scripture, you'll learn that it was Mary who would
2:07.6	anoint the Lord with oil and wipe his feet with her hair. Mary's voice broke the silence. Her words barely a whisper.
2:19.9	Martha, you love flowers dearly.
2:24.0	We must send word to Jesus.
2:27.0	Surely he can heal him.
2:29.0	Martha nodded, agreeing with her sister's idea.
2:34.7	Martha still had faith, but her forehead wrinkled in concern.
2:42.4	Martha stepped outside, her gaze lifting to the stars that speckled the night sky, and she
2:49.2	called for a young boy from the village, known for his swift feet.
