Jim and Lisa discuss the coroner’s report for Gabby Petito’s autopsy. Lisa has questions about the crime scene and details on the manner of death…and what that may tell us about her offender. Jim talks about the Coroner Brent Blue’s comment about “other domestic abuse cases” that are not getting this kind of media coverage.
Gabby Petito’s family has created a foundation in her honor with an important mission. Please see below
https://gabbypetitofoundation.org
The mission of the foundation is to address the needs of organizations who support locating missing persons and to provide aid to organizations who assist victims of domestic violence situations, through education, awareness, and prevention strategies.
We wish to turn our personal tragedy into a positive. It is our hope that Gabby’s foundation will bring these important issues into the forefront of the public eye to the benefit of all our communities.

0:07.0 | I'm Dr. Brum Blue, a teetom county Wyoming corner. After a detailed investigation by our forensic pathologists or anthropologists and local law enforcement with assistance from the FBI, the teetom county corners office is following the following verdict. |
0:24.0 | In the matter of death of Gabrielle, the nor of the teetom, we find the cause and matter to be caused death by strangulation and manner is homicide. |
0:36.0 | By Wyoming State Statute, only the cause and matter of death are released. There are autopsy findings and photographs in that sort of material is not released by state statute. |
0:49.0 | And I'll be glad to entertain some questions at this time. |
1:01.0 | Hello and welcome to Real Crime Profile. This is Jim Clemente, retired at the FBI Profile Reformer in New York City Prosecutor and Ripe Reduce Service CVS's Criminal Monks. And with me today is... |
1:27.0 | I am Lisa Zembeady, I am the cast and director for CVS's Criminal Minds among other things. And we're missing dear Laura. She's got her hands full, a very hungry baby. |
1:37.0 | Oh my god, we saw a picture of him. It's so cute. Jim, oh my god. |
1:42.0 | He's so alert. He's so ridiculous. He looks like he's interrogating you with his eyes. |
1:48.0 | Maybe that's who we will be, an interrogator. But anyway, yes, we missed Laura, but we wanted to get on to do an update on the Gabby Petito case. |
2:00.0 | There were some interesting things that happened since our last update and we're going to go over mainly the coroner's report and what that means. |
2:09.0 | And read between the lines a little bit, I think. |
2:13.0 | Yeah, I need to really, I need to really read for me because I just I just got finished watching in this committee, you know, a few days ago, Dr. Brent Blue, who's the Teton coroner. |
2:25.0 | I was very impressed by how restrained and disciplined and conservative he was in his comments and he was getting off. |
2:33.0 | Absolutely. And there's a lot of comments that I want to ask you about. So you want to basically go over what he said. Sure, but and but what I will tell you, I think you reveal the little bit more than he intended and we'll go through it and and I'll let you know what I thought. |
2:47.0 | So it's Dr. Blue. He he basically held the press conference to disclose the final manner of death and the cause of death. |
2:58.0 | That's really all he wanted to disclose, as I said, I think he gave out a little bit more. So the manner of death was confirmed to be homicide. |
3:07.0 | Remember before they had a preliminary finding of homicide. This is now a confirmed manner of death as homicide. Now that means they ruled out natural accident suicide. |
3:22.0 | And then those are the only other choices in that particular jurisdiction, but in other jurisdictions, they can also have an undetermined category for manner of death. |
3:34.0 | But what's important is they ruled out suicide or accident and we'll get back to that. Why that's important. |
3:41.0 | The cause of death, he said, was strangulation. Yep. And what's interesting about that is strangulation could be manual or it could be ligature and not exfixiation. |
3:56.0 | He didn't say exfixiation. That's when somebody stops breathing. Now that could be accidental. They could choke on something. |
