After briefly touching on the existing federal statutes around price discrimination, and the major role algorithms and technological evolution play in obfuscating the decision-making process around pricing, Dayen parses through the ongoing fight within the Biden Administration over this issue of financial discrimination, including the advancement of various lawsuits. Wrapping up, David tackles why any potential legislative or administrative developments remain in a precarious position with a possible Trump Administration 2.0, and Sam and Emma look to the GOP’s ongoing attempt to reshape the narrative around Trump’s conviction.
