Jason Lingrad is with me, and Christopher Gardner is back,

and we're finally going to get an episode where we talk about bamboo, which I've been looking forward to.

I've had a lot to do with bamboo over my lifetime.

It's unfortunate that when I got into it, I lived in Southern California and that's a mismatch.

The one thing bamboo needs is water.

The one thing Southern California doesn't have is water.

And there are ways around this for certain types, but we're going to try to show some of the breadth and width of bamboo.

I think I can easily state that the most important plant in this world is grass, bamboo being the largest grass.

If I'm not mistaken, I might be, but I don't think I am.

Rice and wheat are forms of grass.

So I think it's easily arguable that grass is one of the most useful

plants that grows in this world. And I will further state, it used to be in Asia. There was almost nothing that got built or done

without the use of bamboo. Of course, in the modern era that's going away, but as we got in here,

we were talking about still to this day if you go to parts of Asia and a big

buildings being scaffolded it is scaffolded with bamboo and so we started asking the

question what kind of bamboo is that and I looked it up and they told me

cow ju and mau ju and I thought well that doesn't help me because I know the Latin so I looked it up and
