Hello, welcome back to the show.

0:15.0

We're in the last three weeks of this podcast series centered on Kauai.

0:20.0

Kauai has a rich surf history, but there's also an aura of mystery.

0:25.1

And in surf media, this has always been perpetuated intentionally, with the idea that

0:29.9

it's a special place and there's no real way to convey the experience of Kauai, through

0:35.3

photos or videos or stories.

0:38.1

And rather than selfishly exploit that and regurgitate a version that perhaps only 5%

1:44.0

serendipitous events transpired, some of which

1:47.2

they were simple harvesting of previous seeds that I had planted.

1:52.2

San Diego board builder Josh Hall happened to be there at the same time, and he introduced

1:56.9

me to his friend Jimmy Rodello, who is a local, who's lived there his whole life.

2:02.2

He's also, thankfully, a longtime podcast listener and fan. So he understood the value of these

2:09.3

podcast conversations, and he also knew who would be a good fit for the podcast and willing to engage
