Music In early September of 1999, the owner of a split-level four-bedroom house on Forest Drive in Jericho, Long Island,

was getting ready to move. He was tidying up, clearing out, and just trying to make the place look presentable for its new owners. One of the areas he decided to deal with was a crawl space.

According to forensic files, the homeowner hired movers to help haul out some

debris from that space. One of the main items they dragged out was a massive steel barrel. It was

1:03.8

55 gallons and weighed over 350 pounds. The homeowner didn't know what was in the barrel. It had been sitting in the crawl space since he had moved in back in 1990s, so he just told the movers to trash it. They rolled it out to the curb, but sanitation workers refused to take it. It was too heavy, and there were warning stickers plastered on the side saying chemicals might be in

And then he saw something that confirmed that smell, which was a human hand. Needless to say,

he called the police. Detectives rushed to the scene and opened the barrel all the way up.

Inside, they saw the same hand he had with a ring still on it.

2:07.4

They had the entire barrel transported to the medical examiner's office to try and figure out

2:13.6

who the woman in the barrel was and how she ended up sealed inside of a steel drum in someone's

crawl space. Just to be safe, detectives also did a full sweep of the property, but there

weren't any other remains. This episode is brought to you by Iqbar, our exclusive snack sponsor.
