There's so many tools for financial help, it has gotten too complicated! You don't need all the apps, websites, products, accounts, credit cards, etc. for sale online.

I'm getting questions about things that show me the big picture is being missed.

How many buckets do I need? What should I put where? How much here?

Keep it simple and basic! 

I did 3 things well: paid my bills on time, saved and invested.

Save 20% if you can, or at least 10%. Pay yourself first. Like it's a bill.

Pay your bills and pay them on time! If you can't, go on a cash basis.

Either it was in my savings account like when I saved for a down payment to buy my first home, emergency fund, etc.

The rest went into the market.

The idea is to save as much as you can and move over into investments to build wealth.

The investment can be a home, stock account, mutual fund, etc.

At 2%, your money won't double for 36 years!

We get all complicated with buckets, accounts, budget apps, etc. Maybe you think that's easier. I don't.

If you're paying off debt and strapped for cash, they might be helpful to get to stability.

But if you're not in debt, then look at saving more money!

Be aware that financial companies are promoting things like financial rebalancing, combining accounts, and online banks and incentivized credit cards to make commissions. The internet is spammed with such offers.

The blogger is paid a commission on! It's is NOT unbiased advice. They are monetizing their blog or podcast by making commissions. You only see it in small print and it's called being an "affiliate". That means "commission".
