This is Joe Lample, the Joe behind Joe Gardner, and welcome to the Joe Gardner show.

Well, as we're into summer now, one of the classic flowers that we see in landscapes

all across the country and maybe even yours, probably so.

And definitely in mind, is the beloved hydrangea.

It's kind of the classic flower of summer for sure.

But this year, we may not be seeing it as much as in prior years.

And the reason for that is the crazy weather that we've been having.

The fluctuations of highs to lows, back to highs, back to lows, but this year, especially

we had those crazy drops in temperature in the same day, like 40 degrees Fahrenheit drop

in a period of hours.

And that will do in a lot of plants, not just hydrangeas.

And we did a separate podcast about more general terms of what the impact was of the polar

vortex that came through here at Christmas time.

Detroit, Martin was our guest for that one and he provided great information on the

cause and effect that we are dealing with now and a lot more detail than we're going

to talk about today.
