First I would like to apologize for the delay in getting the eighth and ninth letters to you guys.

I suppose I owe you a bit of an explanation.

So here's what happened.

In mid-September, I got invited to be a leader for a sort of training seminar.

Essentially, some older hunters are interested in establishing a more formal training program

for some of the newer, less experienced members of our organization.

They arrange for us to do an extended wilderness training seminar in southern Utah.

My job was about helping teach and supervise the students.

We did all sorts of lessons on hunter work, from tracking to advanced survival skills

to weapons training. We also did lots of book work, going over case studies, field reports,

and post-action write-ups.

A lot more paperwork than you might think goes into being a hunter, although we're a guide to

handle most of it.

On the training we even brought out a psychologist to talk about and prepare people for

abstract parts of capital H hunting.

Lots of hunters have mental illness and psychological problems because of our work.

And although I do not talk about it much, I have suffered a lot of these as well.

It is great to see the hunters making a more active effort to address this.

Although, I still cannot help but wish we had made this effort earlier.

That is part of what this letter will be about, but we will get into that later.
